Sample Endowment Policy
Policyholder: You · Illustrative data
Policy Iris is an independent insurance-policy intelligence platform being built for Indian policyholders. It helps you understand policies you already own — what the document says, what is guaranteed, what is not, and what still needs confirmation — without selling you another policy.
Policyholder: You · Illustrative data
Policyholder: Family member
In plain English: Iris is designed to explain the policy while keeping the source, confidence and any missing information visible. If something cannot be verified safely, it should be flagged rather than guessed.
“Which benefits in this policy are guaranteed?”
Grounded answer →Illustrative interface only. Founder-beta features, supported products and outputs may evolve during validation.
A useful policy-intelligence product has to do more than paraphrase a PDF. Policy Iris is being designed to identify the contract, separate contractual facts from calculated values, show where information came from, surface uncertainty, and explain the result in language a policyholder can follow.
Identify the policy, product/version, people, premiums, status, benefits, riders and relevant clauses before trying to explain them.
Important outputs should remain connected to their document source, confidence and any information that still needs user confirmation.
Guaranteed and non-guaranteed benefits should never be blended into one reassuring number. The distinction should stay visible.
If the document or supported rules are not enough to answer reliably, Policy Iris should say so and route the question for review.
Policy Iris is being designed so that AI can assist with document reading, clause extraction and explanation — but material financial calculations are not meant to come from an LLM guessing a number.
Where calculation engines are introduced, they will be separately validated. Policy Iris can inform a decision; the decision remains yours.
The founder beta is intentionally smaller than the long-term vision. We are validating whether Policy Iris can make supported life policies easier to organise, verify and understand before expanding into more advanced financial analysis.
A private policy workspace for supported life policies you choose to add, with “add to dashboard” kept separate from analyse-only documents.
Structured extraction and plain-language explanation of supported fields, with sources, confidence and review prompts where needed.
Distinguish account owner, policyholder/proposer, life assured, nominee and family-policy relationships instead of assuming every document belongs to you.
Bring important nominee information and policy dates out of scattered paperwork so they are easier to review and act on.
Guided, policy-grounded questions for supported content. Coverage will expand cautiously rather than pretending every question can already be answered.
Request expert review when the document, question or level of uncertainty calls for a qualified human rather than a confident AI response.
Policy Iris is being built by insurance professionals with deep experience across actuarial science, life insurance, reinsurance, analytics, product design and technology — and a shared passion for leveraging technology to solve real problems for policyholders.
The experience behind Policy Iris spans life and health insurance, reinsurance, actuarial work, analytics, product development and data-led decision-making. It also includes building and working with digital insurance solutions designed to make complex risk and underwriting decisions more structured, transparent and consistent.
What matters most to us, however, is not just understanding insurance from the industry's side. We are building Policy Iris around the problems policyholders actually face.
We are insurance professionals passionate about leveraging technology to solve policyholders' problems.
Insurance contracts can be difficult to interpret. Important information is often scattered across policy schedules, benefit illustrations, terms and conditions, bonus statements and insurer communications. Even financially sophisticated customers can struggle to answer seemingly simple questions: What exactly do I own? What is guaranteed? What is not? What happens next? What should I check before making a decision?
Policy Iris is being built to make that experience simpler.
Our aim is to create an independent intelligence layer that helps policyholders understand their policies more clearly, organise the information that matters and ask better questions before making important insurance decisions.
We believe technology should reduce complexity without creating false certainty. We also believe that trust has to be earned: privacy is central to how Policy Iris is being designed, especially when policy documents can contain sensitive personal and financial information.
That is why Policy Iris is being designed around a simple principle:
AI for understanding. Deterministic engines for money. Human judgement for decisions.
The long-term ambition is straightforward: help policyholders move from documents and confusion to clarity and informed action.
Insurance documents can contain deeply personal and financial information. Protecting that information is not an add-on or a later-stage compliance exercise; it is a core product principle. Real policy uploads will not be opened on this public site, and the founder beta is being gated behind privacy, access-control, audit, deletion, masking, monitoring and external-security-testing requirements.
Permission-aware family handling
“My policy”, family policy, sample/other and analyse-only documents are not treated as the same thing.
Confidence, not false precision
Uncertain or missing values should be surfaced for confirmation instead of displayed as verified facts.
Minimum necessary exposure
Sensitive policy contents should not be copied unnecessarily into logs, prompts or analytics.
Official records stay authoritative
Policy Iris can help interpret a contract; it does not replace insurer records, official surrender quotes or claims determinations.
The initial beta does not provide IRR/return calculations, tax analysis, surrender modelling, personalised “buy / continue / surrender” recommendations, insurance distribution, insurer commissions, payments or transaction flows. Those capabilities require separate validation, controls and — where relevant — regulatory review before they belong in the product.
We are starting with a small invited group in India and expanding gradually. Early participants will help us test clarity, extraction accuracy, correction flows, trust and the questions policyholders genuinely need answered.
Policy Iris is being built as an independent insurance-policy intelligence platform for Indian policyholders. The initial focus is individual life insurance, especially traditional savings-oriented policies such as endowment, money-back, participating and non-participating products.
No. The product direction is to combine structured contract identification, source-linked extraction, confidence and user verification with plain-language explanation. Where material calculations are later introduced, they are intended to come from separately validated deterministic rules rather than an LLM generating a number.
No. The founder beta is not an insurer, broker, distributor, solicitation or transaction service. It is focused on helping policyholders understand policies they already own.
Not through this public early-access website. Real-document uploads will only be enabled inside the controlled beta after the required privacy, security and testing gates are completed.
The product is being designed to distinguish your own policy, a family policy, sample/other material and analyse-only documents. Appropriate permission and ownership context matter, and analyse-only documents are kept separate from your own portfolio.
Not in the initial founder beta. IRR/return calculations, tax analysis, surrender modelling and personalised continue/surrender/buy recommendations are outside the initial scope until separately validated.
The intended behaviour is to surface uncertainty, missing information or unsupported questions instead of presenting an unverified answer as fact. Some cases should be routed to human review.
No. The policy contract and official insurer records remain authoritative. Policy Iris is designed to help you organise, interpret and question what you own — not to replace official policy values, insurer-issued surrender quotes or claims decisions.
